As part of the press tour, journalists visited the Koroskon Historical Museum, located in the village of Koroskon in the Chartak district. The museum features over 3,000 exhibits, including historical artifacts from the 17th to 21st centuries, rare manuscripts, ethnographic items, samples of traditional crafts, vintage cars, photographs, and various documents. The section dedicated to World War II contains information, materials, and photographs about more than 1,800 residents of Koroskon who demonstrated courage both on the front lines and on the home front.
Thanks to the special attention paid to the development of domestic tourism in our country, the museum is visited daily by tourists from different parts of the world, as well as by local residents, schoolchildren, and students from district and rural educational institutions.
The next destination of the press tour was the Ahsikent Archaeological Park, where the media representatives witnessed large–scale construction and improvement works being carried out on the territory of the site. The construction of monumental entrance gates and towers, an open–air museum at the 19th excavation site, and the first stage of the defensive wall has been completed. Stone paving, landscaping, and the installation of a fountain are currently underway in the square at the entrance to Ahsikent.
The media representatives also learned about the fortress walls of Ahsikent, a city founded 2,300 years ago. The walls originally stood over 20 meters high and were 7–10 meters thick. Inside the fortress, there was a military garrison capable of accommodating 100,000 soldiers along with weapon supplies. Currently, restoration work is underway on a section of the fortress wall measuring 14 meters in height and 2 meters in thickness, with a total length of 1 kilometer.
Ahsikent is becoming not only a historical landmark, but also a large–scale tourism complex that will include a library of rare manuscripts, pilgrimage facilities, pottery workshops, as well as ethno–fashion and ethno–sports centers.
After the tour, participants visited the “Valley of Legends” recreation park, which allowed them to conclude a day full of bright impressions on an even more vibrant note.
