As part of the visit, meetings were held with Matjaž Han, Minister of the Economy, Tourism, and Sport of the Republic of Slovenia, the leadership of SID Bank, as well as bilateral business discussions and an expanded roundtable with executives of leading Slovenian companies.
During these engagements, the Uzbek side presented the country’s investment potential, highlighting untapped resources for industrial cooperation, preferential access to major regional markets, and other practical aspects of collaboration that could serve as a foundation for effective business-to-business partnerships.
Slovenian representatives at both governmental and business levels gave high marks to the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan and expressed strong readiness to scale up joint efforts across all areas of mutual interest.
Several agreements were reached to increase bilateral trade turnover to $500 million through the expansion of product range and volume, including textile and horticultural products, mineral fertilizers, plastics, non-ferrous metals, construction materials, pharmaceuticals, industrial equipment, and other high value-added goods.
The two sides also agreed on measures to establish major clusters for the cultivation of medicinal herbs, the joint production of pharmaceuticals and cosmetic products, and the development of training programs to enhance the skills of Uzbek pharmaceutical specialists. Work will also be accelerated on signing an intergovernmental agreement on organized labor migration to facilitate the employment of Uzbek nurses and doctors in Slovenia.
