Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov met with Datavolt CEO Rajit Nanda to assess the status of a high-efficiency data center under construction in Tashkent and to discuss potential areas for expanded collaboration.

The facility, developed with environmentally sustainable technologies, is designed to strengthen Uzbekistan’s digital infrastructure and serve both public and private sectors. It will be the country’s first large-scale data center powered entirely by renewable energy, prioritizing energy efficiency and environmental standards.

Talks included the possible adoption of the International Renewable Energy Certificate (I-REC) system to support a reliable green energy supply and bring local practices in line with international norms.

The sides also considered joint projects in IT aimed at improving energy performance, integrating renewables, and advancing enterprise IT systems.

The meeting concluded with a commitment to deepen cooperation and ensure timely implementation of the project.
