Discussion with Georgian Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development on expansion of cooperation in Startups and IT

A delegation led by Irakli Nadareishvili, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, visited the Ministry of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan and held a series of meetings to discuss prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation in digital technologies, and IT.
The Georgian delegation was presented with an overview of Uzbekistan’s IT sector, with a particular focus on the activities of IT Park. The presentation detailed the park’s infrastructure, mechanisms for supporting startups, available facilities, and tax incentives designed to attract both local and international IT companies. Discussions also covered ongoing efforts to expand IT service exports and future strategic plans.
The delegation also visited UZINFOCOM, the single integrator, where they were briefed on innovative solutions in public service digitization, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence.
As part of the visit, First Deputy Minister of Digital Technologies Oleg Umarov met with Deputy Minister Nadareishvili. The officials exchanged views on promoting the digital economy, developing innovative projects and increasing the international competitiveness of the startup ecosystem.
Discussions also focused on the establishment of venture funds, mechanisms for supporting innovative and attracting venture capital. Both sides put forward proposals to deepen cooperation in the IT sector, create a favourable environment for and promote joint initiatives.
