Uzbekistan and Viasat Establish Cooperation in Satellite Technology Development

As part of his business trip to the United States, Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov held a meeting with Donna Bethea Murphy, Senior Vice President for Global Regulatory and Technological Policy at Viasat.
The meeting focused on the development of satellite communication systems in Uzbekistan utilising Viasat's groundbreaking UltraGEO technology, the introduction of advanced telecommunications solutions for In-flight Connectivity and advanced NTN services, including Direct-to-Device and IoT technologies, and the expansion of international cooperation in the technology sector.
Both sides agreed to strengthen collaboration on the implementation of innovative space and communication projects, launch pilot initiatives, and promote the exchange of expertise.
At the conclusion of the meeting, a Memorandum of Strategic Cooperation was signed between UZ-SAT and Viasat.
