Uzbek Delegation Discusses Prospects for IT Cooperation at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce

A delegation from the Republic of Uzbekistan visited the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Washington, D.C. As part of the visit, a roundtable discussion was held with the participation of Jennifer Miel, Vice President of the Chamber for Central Asia and the Middle East.
The event brought together representatives of major international IT companies, including Google, Meta, Visa, Palo Alto Networks, Mastercard, Oracle, Salesforce, Citi, Supermicro, Nexttracker, Playground Global, 500 Global, Vertiv, Mayer Brown, FINN Partners, Synergy International Systems, Axiom Space, Docra, Freedom Holding, and ZELH.
During the discussion, the Uzbek side presented information on the favorable conditions and incentives created for IT companies operating in Uzbekistan. The parties also discussed strengthening the country’s investment appeal, establishing an Advisory Group of American business representatives under the Ministry of Digital Technologies, and advancing the “Enterprise Uzbekistan” initiative.
Special attention was given to the creation of appropriate infrastructure, legal frameworks, and international standards for personal data storage, aimed at attracting major global technology corporations (“hyperscalers”) to Uzbekistan.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the sides agreed to develop cooperation roadmaps covering areas from the introduction of artificial intelligence-based solutions to the export of national IT products to international markets.
In addition, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Uzbekcosmos Agency and the U.S. company VAST, outlining cooperation in the field of space technologies.
